North Chile’s Main harbour, but also a tax free city Iquique does not lack attractive points. Its colonial centre is magnificent with its « plaza de armas », its opera and the street Baquedano of Georgian style. As always we alternate history with a visit to the beautiful dry salt lake de Huasco, still unknown to the wider public.
Day 01 Iquique
Arrival at the airport, transfer and check in at the hotel. City tour of Iquique in the afternoon with a visit to the municipal theatre, the Spanish casino, Baquedano street, the cathedral, the regional museum and the Cavancha beaches. Return to the hotel
Day 02 Iquique - Salar de Huasco - Pica – Iquique
Early departure from Iquique to the salar of Huasco, arrival at the site around noon. Visit of its edges in order to observe the abundant wildlife: llamas, alpaca and flamingos. Picnic and continuation of the visit in the early afternoon with the village oasis of Pica whose speciality is the production of citrus fruits. There is also a stop at its thermal pool (32º). Visit to the ghost city of Humberstone and return to Iquique at the end if the evening.
Day 03 Iquique
Free morning and transfer to the airport for the return flight.
